ETHICS
WHAT IS ETHICS?
Ethics refers to well-rounded standards of what is right and what is wrong. In many instances our gut, no matter how old we are, tells us if we are going to do something right or wrong. For example we know that we should treat others kindly.
We should be honest and not lie. We should take responsibility when we do something wrong and admit that we did it.
We should extend our good ethics to everything on the planet, which means we should be good to ourselves, others, animals and property. We should monitor ourselves to make sure that we are being ethical and not fall into being negative, mean, or unethical.
Try the tasks below to help build strong ethics.
- Talk to your parents about what you think good ethics are.
- Think of a time you had a tough decision to make. Did your ethics help you to make that decision.
- Volunteer for an organization with a cause important to you.
- Do a random act of kindness for somebody you care about
- At your next martial arts class, ask your instructor if there is anything you can help with
